Rhinoplasty - What to Expect

Rhinoplasty, also known as an outpatient cosmetic surgery, is a cosmetic surgery process of reconstructing and improving the appearance of your nose. There are 2 types of plastic surgeries used in rhinoplasty - reconstructive surgery, which re-shapes and improve the shape of the missing nose, and aesthetic surgery that changes the look of your nose completely.

Most patients need at least one session in the office for a rhinoplasty. A skilled plastic surgeon will be able to make sure that you have the right expectations and that you fully understand what to expect before having the procedure. Some patients may have a slight change to their nose after the first session. This is often seen as normal, since most patients will feel some slight discomfort during the first session. However, if you are experiencing swelling or redness in your nose after the first session, it is important to consult your orange county rhinoplastysurgeon right away.

There are several different things that can happen with rhinoplasty. For example, some patients have a significant amount of change to their nose after the procedure. Some patients experience discomfort during recovery. This discomfort is normal and is likely due to the presence of excess skin during the recovery process.
